SCISSOR ATTACK AT HOSPITAL GETS CAT LAKE MAN ARRESTED

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~ August 18, 2022 (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a call of violence yesterday, Wednesday August 17,2022 at the Thunder Bay Hospital 

Officers learned that two hospital employees had been assaulted by a man wielding scissors. 

A TBPS Officer was also assaulted and the TBPS vehicle was damaged by the suspect. 

A 27 year old LYLE SAKAKEESIC of Cat Lake was criminally charged with:

  • -assault X 2
  • -utter threats to cause death
  • -mischief (damage to TBPS cruiser) 
  • -assault with a weapon X 3
  • -assault TBPS Officer 

SAKAKEESIC spent the night in custody at Balmoral Police Station and was transported to the Thunder Bay Jail today, Thursday August 18,2022

SAKAKEESIC has another court appearance on Friday August 19,2022 where he will try get released to his grandmother as his surety. 

TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis is not telling the public about attacks on hospital employees or police officers.
