There is a new Virus on the Horizon Covid-19 variant IHU
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ January 8, 2022 (LSNews) As we said back in early December the Omicron Variant would not live up to what was being projected
"We indeed have several cases of this new IHU variant in the Marseille geographical area," said Professor Philippe Colson, head of the Méditerranée Infection Foundation.
"We named it 'variant IHU'. Two new genomes have just been submitted."
The IHU variant is said to have up to 46 mutations.
The Marseille infections have been linked to travels in Cameroon, but show little signs of outcompeting Omicron.
Omicron now makes up over 60 percent of cases in France and is dominant in many other countries.

Omicron is explosively transmissive, that is quite true, but it is also incredibly mild compared to past variants of concern. For most people it’s barely a cold, if that. If necessary resist the imposition of new rules and agitate for the relaxation of old ones.
