Magnus's JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL

Event date: 12/3/2021 - 12/18/2021 Export event

Magnus's JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL

starting Friday until the 18th of December

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~  December 2, 2021  (LSNews)  JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL is a spirited redemption tale that’s being billed as the other half of Charles Dickins’s beloved classic. It follows the perspective of Ebenezer Scrooge’s sour old business partner, Jacob Marley, who must free his own immortal soul from hellish eternity by redeeming the heart of the miserly old Scrooge.

Starring in this one-man show is Jacob James, a Dora award winning actor and Stratford Shakespeare Festival alum whose dynamic performance is sure to delight audiences as he transforms into 17 different characters. James made his Magnus Theatre debut in the farcical BOEING BOEING in 2019.

JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL is directed by Thom Currie, with stage management by Gillian Jones, and lighting and projection by Joe Pagnan. Audiences can expect a brilliant soundscape and stunning visual effects supported by multiple projection screens to create the illusion of a live and moving stage.

The show runs until December 18th, with evening performances starting at 7:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday matinees start at 2:00 pm and Wednesday matinees at 12:00 pm. Tickets for evening performances are $40 ($20 for students) and matinees are $35 ($15 for students). There will be a Pay What You Can matinee performance on Sunday, December 5th. Tickets are available on Magnus Theatre’s website at magnustheatre.com or through the box office by phone at 807.345.5552.

Magnus Theatre will be restricting audience capacity to 65% for the upcoming production of JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL, previewing tonight before opening on Friday evening.

Magnus Theatre is one of the only professional theatres in Ontario to continue restricting attendance after the province lifted capacity restrictions for large venues in October.

“We made the decision to limit how many patrons to host in the auditorium so as to reassure everyone’s comfort and safety while visiting Magnus Theatre. At 65% capacity, our patrons have the opportunity for seats on either side of their party to be empty,” said Magnus Theatre Artistic Director Thom Currie.
