HOVLAND, MINNESOTA   November 4, 2019  (LSN)After all the dishes are put away after the United States Thanksgiving dinner, our thoughts turn to shop for Christmas. So Saturday, November 30th, the Hovland Arts Festival will host the First Christmas Sale with local artisans and crafts makers. It is held at the Hovland Town Hall, (highway 61, milage marker 128.6,  18 miles east of Grand Marais, and 15 miles south of the US/Canadian Border).

The Hovland Arts Festival summer show was started 14 years ago. It was such a huge success a year later it was decided to do the Christmas sale.  It is the perfect holiday shopping destination while tourists and family members were on the North Shore spending the Thanksgiving holidays with family and friends

.Hovland Christmas Art Show

This year the sale will start at 10 am and run through 4 pm  in the Hovland Town Hall. You will able to shop for a wide selection of holiday gifts including the birchbark crafts, photograph, watercolors, candles, ornaments, and Christmas Wreaths. You’ll find the perfect gift for everyone on your shopping list.

There is no better way to start the holiday season than with a small-town festivity which is welcoming and easy to shop and without the pressure of big crowds.  All community members are welcome to join the fun, food and get in the holiday spirit.  Admission is free.  The Hovland Town Hall is 18 miles east of Grand Marais and 98 kilometers south of Thunder Bay on Highway 61.
