"Virtual Community Day: Hidden Stories"

The Haggerty Museum

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN  ~~~~~~   March 17, 2021  (LSN)  The Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University will convene four other Milwaukee community organizations to present Virtual Community Day: Hidden Stores online on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Art lovers of all ages are invited to log in for this fun, FREE, family-friendly virtual exploration of behind-the-scenes stories hidden behind the walls of these dynamic organizations.

Participants will create art, meet the Haggerty's community partners, enjoy live and pre-recorded presentations, and discover new ways to engage with the Museum. Online registration is required and available at https://hopin.com/events/haggerty-museum-of-art-spring-virtual-community-day

NORTHERN, WISCONSIN  ~~~~~~   March 29, 2021  (LSN)    With the recent delisting of wolves from the federal endangered species list, some livestock farmers and pet owners are wondering how this change affects Wisconsin’s wolf conflict program. While the delisting has prompted some changes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services (USDA-Wildlife Services) remains the first point of contact for reporting all wolf conflict incidents.

MADISON, WISCONSIN  ~~~~~~  March 25, 2021  (LSN)  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and neighboring state and federal agencies will conduct an intensive invasive carp removal effort in Pool 8 of the Mississippi River near La Crosse beginning April 5. The innovative Modified Unified Method (MUM) combines netting and herding techniques to drive and concentrate invasive carp from a large area of water into a small zone for removal.

MADISON, WISCONSIN  ~~~~~~  March 14, 2021  (LSN)  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is urging Wisconsinites to immediately remove and properly dispose of commercially purchased "moss balls" for aquariums after invasive zebra mussels were discovered inside and on some of these products in Wisconsin and across the United States. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, zebra mussels are regarded as one of the most destructive invasive species in North America.

Only 8 community hospitals in Michigan were ranked in the top 100.
