ST PAUL, MINNESOTA  - October 27, 2017   (LSN) Rocky Mountain Express giant screen film in the Science Museum's Omnitheater. It opened earlier this month and runs through January 4. (It will remain onscreen as one of five films included in Omnifest 2018, which runs from January 5 - March 1.)

Opened on Friday, October 13 in the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Omnitheater, Rocky Mountain Express tells the epic story of a seemingly-impossible task: the construction of a transcontinental railway through the wild and forbidding Canadian wilderness. Viewers will witness this monumental engineering project on the Omnitheater’s 90-foot domed screen — the only screen large enough to capture its scale.

Rocky Mountain Express will take Omnitheater viewers on a present-day steam train journey through the breathtaking vistas of the Canadian Rockies and tell them the extraordinary – and seemingly impossible – story of the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway, the nation’s first transcontinental railway. Visitors will ride the rails along deep river canyons and over high mountain passes. They’ll discover some of the most beautiful and rugged landscapes on Earth and join in the human drama and epic engineering project that united a nation and shaped a continent.
