Matawa First Nations to Host Mineral Exploration Mining Symposium

THUNDER BAY, ON - February 4, 2010 - Representatives from the Mining and Mineral Industry and Government Officials, will join Matawa First Nations leadership in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on February 9th and 10th, 2010, for Matawa First Nations first ever Mineral Exploration Mining Symposium.

The two day event will be highlighted by the introduction of a new process that will provide guidelines on how communities interact with the mineral exploration mining industry, a presentation from the Honourable Minister of Northern Development and Mines and Forestry Michael Gravelle, a Chiefs Panel, along with breakout sessions.
