Charla Robinson Appointed Executive Director

THUNDER BAY, ON - December 9, 2009 - The Board of Directors of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA) are pleased to announce the appointment of Charla Robinson as Executive Director.

“Charla’s wealth of experience in government affairs, policy and communication development, and project management will be a tremendous asset to our organization,” says NOMA President .  “We look forward to working with Charla in our continuing efforts toward the advancement of municipalities across Northwestern Ontario.”

For four years, Ms. Robinson served as Chief of Staff to the Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay-Rainy River where she managed office communications and legislative issues.  She has also worked as Legislative Assistant to the Member of Provincial Parliament for Thunder Bay-Atikokan, and Director of Membership Services for the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.

NOMA represents the interests of municipalities from the City of Kenora in the west to the Township of White River in the east.  The organization’s mandate is to consider matters of general interest to the municipalities and to procure enactment of such legislation that may be of advantage to the municipalities in Northwestern Ontario; and to take united action on all matters where the rights of the municipalities may be affected to advance the standards of municipal government through education and discussion and generally to promote their interests.
