THUNDER BAY, ON - December 9, 2009 - Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medals were
presented to 17 conservation officers from across northwestern Ontario in recognition of 20 years of exemplary service.
This is the first year that Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers are being awarded this medal under the authority of the Governor General’s Office. Three of the 17 conservation officers also received an additional bar in recognition of 30 years of service. Conservation officers are law enforcement professionals trained to protect the province’s natural resources and

An additional 58 conservation officers have recognized at similar events across the province this fall.
