THUNDER BAY, ON --  August 30, 2016   (LSN)  CONSORTIUM AURORA BOREALIS  begins their 38th SEASON under the direction of Elizabeth Ganiatsos – Artistic Director.  Northwestern Ontario’s Chamber Music Group ~ Baroque and Beyond September 17th at St Paul's United Church

September 17 • Songs of Passion from Around the World

October 1 • Vesuvius Ensemble: “In the Shadow of the Volcano”
Traditional music from Naples and Southern Italy. Vesuvius concerts “pulse with life”, ``marked by vibrancy and charisma``.  Spanning four centuries of captivating music

October 15 • Cecilia String Quartet  ~  “Dauntingly perfect”                                                                                                         Haydn Op. 33, #1; Beethoven Op. 18, #3; Schubert “Death and the Maiden”                                      A season highlight, not to be missed! An award-winning ensemble.
November 12 • Baroque Masterpieces: J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Marcello, Albinoni
Doris Dungan, flute; Colleen Kennedy, oboe; with string ensemble
December 3 • Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra: From Mozart to Mendelssohn Thomas Cosbey, solo violin; Jean-Michel Malouf, conductor
January 14 • Boccherini: A Night in Madrid - Joseph Roy, guitar
With strings: Thomas Cosbey, Iain McKay, Mathilde Bernard, Marc Palmquist, Sonya Nanos
February 25 • Celebrating Telemann: 250th Anniversary of his Death
