2011 Holiday Career Festival and Calling all Health Care students!

THUNDER BAY, ON  ---  December 15, 2011   --  Holiday Career Festival and Health Care Students Reception will Holiday Career Festivalbe held on December 29th starting first with the Health Care reception at 11 a.m. with the Holiday Career Festival starting at 1 p.m.

Do you know a student in medicine or another health care field who will be in Thunder Bay for the holidays?  The Health Care Student Reception will be held on Dec. 29th from 11 am – 1:00 pm at Confederation College.  The reception is an opportunity for the students to network with local health care representatives about career opportunities, enjoy lunch and tour the new REACH facility. SHIFT Thunder Bay’s Young Professionals Network along with Ambassadors Northwest will be hosting the 2011 Holiday Career Festival on Thursday December 29th, 2011 from 1:00-4:00pm at Confederation College in the SUCCI Lounge.

This event will feature between 40 and 50 local organizations and companies, all of which who are currently hiring and collectively showcasing upwards of 70-80 current available positions.

The Holiday Career Festival aims to target those individuals that currently live out of town, work out of town or go to school out of town that will be home for the holidays. Furthermore, this event aims to reach those who live in Thunder Bay who are actively seeking employment in their fields.

The idea to host a Holiday Career Festival began with a number of local business owners that were trying to find experienced individuals to fill various positions at their organizations. This idea then led to the creation of an annual event that would serve the purpose of linking talent with opportunity. Due to its large success, this is the third year for the event and in the past there have been between 200-250 individuals who have attended the Holiday Career Festival.

There is a wide variety of exhibitors participating this year so whether you are actively seeking employment or thinking about a possible career change come join us between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.

The success and future of our community heavily relies upon hiring talented individuals in their respective fields. Be sure to share the event with friends and family members and help keep Northwestern Ontario’s talented professionals in the region!
