FEDERAL SCHELDE TOP HAT HONOUR IN PORT OF THUNDER BAY

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO,  April 10, 2017  (LSN) The Barbados-registered vessel M.V. Federal Schelde became the first ocean-going “Salty” vessel to enter the Port of Thunder Bay during the 2017 navigation season.  The vessel berthed at G3 Elevator Thursday morning, April 6.  The vessel is loading 21,000 metric tonnes of Western Canadian Canola for direct export to Rouen, France. 

Federal Schelde is owned and operated by Fednav, Canada’s largest ocean-going, dry-bulk shipowning and chartering group.  The agent for the vessel is Thunder Bay Shipping Inc.

Federal Schelde Captain Karl Fernandes and Chief Engineer Chandramohanan Nair Sreedharan was welcomed to the Port in a Top Hat Ceremony G3 Elevator (200 Darrel Ave).  Hon. Patty Hajdu, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay-Superior North  bestowed the Top Hat and Thunder Bay City Councillor Iain Angus gave a welcome from the city.
