Outdoor Show Build A Boat Contest Is Back!

THUNDER BAY, ON  ---   December 13, 2012  --  The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce 9th Outdoor Show Boat ContestAnnual Central Canada Outdoor Show is pleased to announce that the Build A Boat Contest is back. This is a great exercise for children to start working on over the holidays as it thrives on stimulating young minds and inspiring creativity. We are proud to continue with an environmentally friendly approach. Bonus marks will be awarded to boats created using recycled materials.

First place in each category of ages 6-9 and 10-12 wins an Acadia Scout kayak and paddle valued at $550 for Wilderness Supply and a $50 gift certificate for The Sports Dome. Second prize is a $50 gift certificate for Wilderness Supply and a $30 gift certificate for The Sports Dome. Third place is a $25 gift certificate from Wilderness Supply and a $25 gift certificate for The Sports Dome. Each prize placing includes a Meal Deal from McDonalds.

Students wishing to enter the contest must be between the ages of 6 and 12 and will be divided into categories from 6-9 and 10-12. Entry must be no larger than 1ft(L) x 1ft(W) x 1ft(H). Entries must be received with a registration form attached no later than 2:30 pm on Sunday February 24th, 2013 with winners being announced at 3:30 pm. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.tbchamber.ca/buildaboat. Official entry takes place at the Wilderness Supply booth during the Outdoor Show in The Sports Dome. All judges’ decisions are final.
