Rain Barrel Return to Garden Show

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO —--- January 15, 2015  ---  The Rain Barrels return to the Spring Home and Garden Show from April 10-12. The Home & Garden Show Rain BarrelEcoSuperior’s 5th annual Painted Rain Barrel Art Project, a fun and creative fundraiser with something for everyone!

The environmental stewardship organization is inviting local artists, community groups and schools to submit their designs, and will then select 30 to receive a primed rain barrel to paint.  No entry fee is required, just creativity.

“It’s a community effort,” says EcoSuperior’s executive director Ellen Mortfield. “We put out the call for artists early in the new year, assess the applications and rough sketches, and choose 30 to participate.”  

The rain barrels will be exhibited and sold in a silent auction at the Spring Home and Garden Show from April 10-12, 2015 at the CLE/Lowerys Sports Dome. Over 25,000 people attended last year’s event.

Cash prizes are generously donated by local sponsors for a range of categories.

The deadline to apply is February 6th. To enter, pick up an application from our office located at 562 Red River Road, or download an application package at www.ecosuperior.org.
