THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO --- June 22, 2015 --- Woofstock 2015, an outdoor dog celebration for dogs and their two-footed companions, takes place on Sunday, June 28 from 10 am to 4 pm at Waverley Park. The event, hosted by the Thunder Bay's Waterfront District BIA will feature pet-related exhibits, rescue groups, animal shelters and different events for dogs including a dog walk, a fashion show and a doggie look-alike contest.
“This is a highly anticipated event”, said James Comuzzi, Waterfront District BIA Chair. “We’re hoping pets and their owners will come out to indulge in a day of doggie food, fashion and fun”.
The event is intended to promote dog rescue, adoption and responsible pet ownership. “We want to boost awareness of both adoption and responsible pet ownership while giving financial support to local dog rescue groups and animal shelters, enabling them to provide proper care to the thousands of homeless dogs in our community and region”, said Comuzzi
All proceeds to go to animal rescue groups to help with medical needs, food and other supplies for rescue animals. All leashed, well-behaved dogs welcome.
