Thunder Bay Oktoberfest 2015

Oktoberfest 2015

THUNDER BAY, ON  ---  July 15, 2015  ---- On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the Port Arthur Rotary Club in partnership with the Sleeping Giant Brewing Company is hosting their 3rd annual Oktoberfest in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Already named one of Canada’s top 11 Oktoberfest’s by the Huffington Post, this year will prove to be even bigger and better.

This year Oktoberfest Thunder Bay is expanding to a full day event incorporating Beer and Brawn to engage and delight visitors. Daytime activities will begin at 9:00am at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition and will include a Crossfit and Strongman Competition, a 5km Fun Run and a Home Brew competition.

Of course beer will be on tap and available starting at 11:00am. Sleeping Giant Brewing Company will be serving up their famous brews, including their Northern Logger that debuted at Oktoberfest in 2014 and was just awarded a bronze medal. We can’t wait to see what they bring for us this year!

Pinetree Catering will serving an array of gourmet German food including bratwurst, kase-spatzle and kartoffepuffer and more. Sweet North bakery will also be on site with their famous pretzels and other delicious desserts.

The evening dance party will get under way at 6:00pm with live entertainment by the Polka Pirates and Green Bank Trio.

Tickets are $20 and are available at Sleeping Giant Brewing Company, Our Kids Count and online.

All funds raised will go to support Our Kids Count and other local charities designated by the Port Arthur Rotary Club.
