THUNDER BAY, ON ----  November 2, 2011  ---  The Art Gallery announces its 11th annual Christmas House Tour. TBAG Christmas House TourThis popular, and totally unique, annual fundraising event continues to raise significant revenue in support of the Gallery’s ongoing programs.
There are five executive homes this year, each decorated by local professional businesses who have once again donated their expertise to make these homes a truly remarkable pre holiday experience.
They are:
Celebrations by George’s, Elegant Impressions, Vintage Pixie Studio, Victoria’s Cupboard, Willow Springs, and The Urban Farm Chick.

Candlelight Tour: Saturday, November 12 from 6pm – 9pm.
Art Gallery Reception: Saturday, November 12 from 8pm – 10pm.

Cost: $30. Gallery Members $25

Includes: Home tour. Gallery reception: appetizers; desserts; cash bar; live music; Gallery exhibitions;

House Tour: Sunday, November 13 from 10am – 4pm.

$20 Each. $15 for Gallery Members.

 

Includes: House Tour. Gallery Tour. Gallery Exhibitions. Fort William Male Choir in rehearsal at the Gallery from 1 – 3:30 pm. 25% off regular priced items in the Gallery gift shop.

Willow Springs Creative is a local, non-profit organization that believes in the power of creative expression whether it’s through art, gardening, food or anything in-between. This modern, nature-focused, open-concept home is the perfect stage for Willow Springs’ creativity. With hand-made, luxe ornaments, wreaths, layered fabrics, and improvised garnishes, Willow Springs invites you to enjoy a bohemian winter solstice celebration chez McGoey.
Willow Springs will host two workshops at the Art Gallery
in December.
Head south on Hwy 61. Turn right on Broadway Ave and left onto Victor St. The house is on the right-hand side. Turn into the driveway, and stay right. This home has a long driveway with a loop near the house. Feel free to drop off guests who are not comfortable walking on gravel, but please do not park in the loop near the home. Volunteers will assist with parking.

Moss Cottage invites you to turn your imagination to that most glorious of seasons. This is the time to spread merriment, comfort and joy, and to indulge in those extra touches that make the holidays memorable. Heather’s character home offers an instant backdrop for the stylings of
Moss Cottage where urban meets farmhouse. This home reminds us that the holiday season—the baking, crafting, trimmings and decor—blend together to make this special time of year something to savour.
Moss Cottage will host its annual Winter Open House November 18 - 20, 2011.

Elegant Impressions welcomes you to this cozy home, where natural elements and the homeowners’ love of the outdoors have been incorporated to evoke a feeling of comfort and tradition. This home is a welcome retreat to a simpler time—an escape from the busy and stressful things in life outside the home.
Elegant Impressions is owned by Cathy McCauley and is located in the Coo House, a heritage building established in 1898.
From High St by Hillcrest Park, turn onto Dufferin St. Please park on the street or in the lot at the corner of Banning and Dufferin. The house is across from this parking space.

This inviting home will conjure images of family gatherings, cozy evenings spent by a roaring fireplace with loved ones, and the allure of feasts to come. Celebrations by George’s welcomes you home to Christmas with traditional decor, festive trimmings, and a cozy element to warm the spirit on even the chilliest of nights. This is Celebrations first time as a decorator on the Christmas House Tour and we are delighted to showcase the ideas, giftware, and inspiring decorations you
have come to expect from their local shop.
Visit Celebrations on
November 17 for their Customer Shopping Night and enjoy discounts on their unique wares.
Heading east on Arthur St, turn
right onto Selkirk St and left onto Ridgeway St East. This house is on the corner of Selkirk and Ridgeway.

Vintage Pixie Studio
Feel the enchantment of the faeries in the Art Gallery’s foyer!
Leslie Bailey’s Vintage Pixie Studio (formerly Twas the Month Before Christmas) has created charming vignettes showcasing a vintage “shabby chic” Christmas including fairies, imps, pixies and other
little folk. Visit the Vintage Pixie Studio to discover the magical world of whimsical collectibles Leslie has created.
Our current exhibitions include Walter Scott’s Mood Valleys, Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas’ RED, and women artists from the Gallery’s Permanent Collection.
