Chill Defeat Menace in Home Opener

THUNDER BAY, ON  -----  June 11, 2011  ----  The Thunder Bay Chill gave the home crowd at Chapples Park a win in their first home game of the season against division rivals Des Moines Menace. Two goals by Brandon Swartzendruber sealed the win in the first half.

In a caution filled game, the Chill out-shot the Menace 11 to 1. It took 35 minutes for the home side to get on the score sheet when Nolan Intermoia set up Swartzendruber for the games first goal. In the 45th minute, Pedro Pereira was fouled in the box by former Chill player Anthony Colaizzi, resulting in a penalty.
