Bluefin Bay is pleased to partner with our Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest judges, professional photographers John Gregor and Val Doherty, to host a special gallery exhibit of our prize winning photographs from the 18th Annual Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest. The exhibit will be on display at Waterfront Gallery, 632 First Ave. in Two Harbors, from January 12 - February 28, 2013. The exhibit will then move to Bluefin Bay's Guest Services Building. Join us in applauding the 2013 Bluefin Bay Calendar Contest winners and their prize photographs featured on the calendar pages.
Waterfront Gallery owner Val Doherty is honored to judge this annual contest along with fellow professional landscape photographer, John Gregor. The entries for the contest number in the hundreds and are sent in by amateur photographers from all over the country. Anyone is eligible to enter a maximum of 8 digital images that are color, horizontal format, and in a specified resolution for electronic entry. The 2013 calendar shows the best of the submittals for the 18th year of the contest.
This year's winners were: Matt Pastick of Plymouth MN, Aaron Moen of Hastings MN, Jim Kruger of Minnetonka MN, Karla Reichel of Cold Spring MN, Keith L. Olson of Fridley MN, Lori Larson of Cottage Grove MN, Jon & Izy Mortenson of Coon Rapids MN, Aaron Benson of Fargo ND, John Katzenberger of Minneapolis MN, Melissa Anderson of Grand Marais MN, Travis Chadwick of Superior WI, and Brenda Dutcher of Glenwood MN. Also, there were four honorable mentions given to images by Mark Goodman of Woodbury MN, Dan & Jean Bringgold of Roberts WI, Jon & Izy Mortenson of Coon Rapids MN, and Amy Flug of Chippewa Falls WI.
The contest winners not only receive credit and publicity for the photos that grace the calendar and also Bluefin Bay resort promotional material, but gift certificate prizes are awarded to all for dining and lodging at the fine resort.
