HOYT LAKES, Minn. – Thunder Bay North Stars netminder Jordan Eliott turned aside all 33 shots he faced to post his second shutout of the season in a 5-0 victory over the Minnesota Iron Rangers Saturday in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Thunder Bay struck three times before the middle session was five minutes old to take control.

Brad Arabia’s 22nd of the season 89 seconds into the stanza proved to be the game-winner while Brad Thrower and Ryan Walsh added tallies in rapid succession to put the visitors up by three.

Up a man later in the period, the North Stars added one more with Nicholas Nigro connecting on the power play at 8:19.

Thunder Bay then finished things off at 5:13 of the third on defenceman Aaron Wesley-Chisel’s third of the campaign to conclude the night’s scoring.

North Stars captain Brett Wolframe dished out a pair of helpers to aid the club’s cause.

To go along with his shutout, Elliot also picked up an assist on Thrower’s marker in the second.

Sean Angle faced 36 shots in defeat in the Minnesota net.
