Rocky Horror Picture Show Paramount Theatre

THUNDER BAY, ON  ----   October 27, 2011   --The Paramount Theatre is proud to present its third annual Interactive Rocky Horror Picture ShowMidnight Movie showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!  This Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29th, the Theatre is pleased to open its doors to the masses at 11:15pm for the 11:45pm movie showing.  All proceeds this year will be in support of the not for profit organization, the Northern Superior Theatre Group.

This annual event has grown to include ‘party bags’ loaded with all the Rocky Horror props needed, including rice, water guns, newspapers, gloves, and even an instruction card…just in case you need to be reminded how to… “do the time warp again!”

The Paramount theatre is a unique Thunder Bay facility. We like to call it the Paramount Experience! The Paramount Theatre opened on December 27, 1948. It was considered a modern facility, with special seats for the hard-of-hearing. The original projector, though not in use, still resides in the Projection booth in the Upper Theatre.  Today the building also houses the popular Family Entertainment Centre known as Wiggles’N Giggles, an indoor playgroup perfect for birthday parties, play dates, and so much more.

The Upper theatre boasts 235 seats, arranged like a theatre was meant to be!  It was originally a Paramount/Famous Players theatre, and today we still have a phenomenal sound system and top notch visual projection for our wonderful assortment of Movies.  But now, the theatre offers even more, with a complete stage and live theatrical performances happening regularly.

This weekend the theatre will run a Halloween movie marathon with an assortment of movies, such as Halloween, and the three Twilight Saga movies, not to mention the much anticipated Interactive Rocky Horror.  Just to give you an idea of the versatility of the Paramount theatre, it is interesting to note that this Sunday, the theatre will be cleaned, then turned over to the Cambrian Actors to allow them time to prepare the space for their upcoming live performance week of Oscar Wilde’s, The Importance of Being Earnest!

The Paramount Experience doesn’t stop with the Wiggles’N Giggles, the Upper Theatre, or even the totally Retro lobby Café, but also includes the Paramount Live! studio space, where the youth of the community gather to practice and prepare for their upcoming stage performances.  This December, you can come out and see local youth performances of Disney’s Aladdin Jr., or step back in time and witness the amazing musical performance of Broadway’s Back to the 80’s!  These shows are possible only because the Paramount Theatre offers both studio space and Upper Theatre rentals at a price even this small not-for-profit troupe can afford!

The Paramount theatre is the place to go for Family Entertainment in Thunder Bay, and we are excited to open our doors this weekend to celebrate Halloween like never before!  So gather your friends. Throw on your favourite Rocky costume, and come down to 24 S. Court Street!  Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to drop by between 10-7 to grab them at the advanced price of $7.  Tickets sold at the door are $10 and limited.  If you are interested in Twilight, Trick R Treat, Halloween, or even the Halloweentown (children’s movie), check out for movie showtimes!  We hope you enjoy your Paramount Experience.
