BUILT A GINGERBREAD HOUSE For Habitat

Minimize

TJIUNDER BAY, ON  ----   September 27, 2013   ---   HERE IS THE EVENT YOU AND YOUR TEAM CAN DO TOGETHER TO RAISE “FUN”DS FOR Genivar Ginger Bread HouseHABITAT FOR HUMANITY THUNDER BAY. THE FIRST 15 TEAMS TO RAISE $500.00 WILL GET TO BUILD THEIR GINGERBREAD HOUSE IN SUPPORT OF
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY THUNDER BAY

BUT THERE’S A CATCH…
THE BUILDING INSPECTOR!

RAISE AS MANY DOLLARS AS YOUR TEAM CAN! THE FIRST $500.00 RAISE MEANS YOUR TEAM GET’S THEIR BUILDING PERMIT APPROVED! & YOUR TEAM WILL COMPETE AGAINST THE OTHER TEAMS THAT GET THEIR BUILDING PERMITS APPROVED.

EVERY OTHER DOLLAR OVER $500.00 CAN BE USED TO BUY BUILDING VIOLATIONS ON OTHER TEAMS OR TO ENHANCE YOUR OWN BUILDING EFFORTS. FOR EXAMPLE: YOUR TEAM RAISES 750.00 IN TOTAL. THAT MEANS YOUR TEAM CAN USE THAT $250.00 TO SECURE BUILDING VIOLATIONS AGAINST OTHER TEAMS.

EACH TEAM PARTICIPATING RECEIVES A GINGERBREAD HOUSE BUILDING KIT: THIS INCLUDES YOUR GINGERBREAD HOUSE, YOUR GINGERBREAD VILLAGE, ONE POUND OF CANDY AND THE ALOTTED ICING INCLUDED IN YOUR KITS. THE STANDARD TOOLS NEEDED TO ASSEMBLE YOUR GINGERBREAD HOUSES ARE ALSO INCLUDED. TEAMS CAN BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS TO USE.

YOU CAN ALSO HAVE OFF THE STREET CANDY FOR YOUR BUILD IF YOUR TEAM BUYS AN OFF THE STREET CANDY PERMIT! THE ONLY CATCH IS THAT THESE CANDIES MUST FIT INTO A STANDARD SIZE FREEZER BAG AND IT MUST BE EDIBLE TO BE APART OF YOUR GINGERBREAD HOUSE BUILD.

In the first two years of the Great Gingerbread House Build  several teams have come together to raise funds in support of Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay and local home building projects. 8 teams came together last year to raise over $10,000.00 and we have already reached that number in teams and have surpassed it.

But we still have room to grow so we hope to double the total number of teams this year. This means raising more funds. Spend an afternoon doing something fun and see what your team can build together and have a direct impact on low income families in need of safe and affordable housing!
