The Friends of Chippewa Park Announce the Summer Schedule #LSN_Tourism

THUNDER BAY, ON  ----  June 30, 2016  (LSN) It will be another jam packed schedule at Chippewa Park this year, thanks to the efforts of The Friends of Chippewa Park. The Friends, which have been responsible for raising and investing $6.4 Million into this prime family park, also assist in programming activities throughout the summer.

“We are excited to kick off another summer season at Chippewa Park” said newly re-elected President Lorraine Lortie-Krawczuk..  

“The Sundays in the Park Concert series returns again this summer thanks to the financial assistance of the City's Recreation and Culture Division with the first concert on July 3 featuring the acoustic medleys of One Floor Down. The Concerts run from 2 PM to 4 PM each Sunday until September 4.”  Admission is free and the concerts will run rain or shine. [Full line up is attached]

More entertainment can be found Tuesday night with the jam sessions which features a broad range of local musicians and singers every Tuesday in July and August starting July 5. Admission is free although there is a free will donation available. Doors open at 7 PM and close at 10 PM

The Rob McLeod Capital Players returns to the Park again this July with a new Melodrama – A Beaver’s Tale or The One Wee Wife of Wes Fort.  The play is presented Sundays at 4 PM and Thursdays at 7 PM starting on July 3 and running until July 28. Adult and teen tickets are $8 each, Children are $5 and those 5 years and under are free.

As always, the beaches, rides and wildlife exhibit will be open throughout the season as well.
