THUNDER BAY, ON   ---   June 19, 2015   ----   – After completing a weekend sweep in Winnipeg last weekend the Thunder Bay Chill (4-0-2) host the Des Moines Menace (3-1-1) Friday evening at Tbaytel Sergio Campano Franco (Sota)Place at Fort William Stadium.

The Menace who are the defending regular season PDL Champions with a record of 12-1-1 in 2014 faced their only regular season loss last year at the hands of the Chill. The Chill beat the Menace 3-1 on June 13, 2014 here in Thunder Bay, but then went on to lose the following night 3-2 at home and the next two games in Des Moines. Des Moines who are entering their 22nd year in the league leads the all-time series against the Chill with a record of 25-23-4.

The Menace currently sit in 4th place in the Heartland division, but Chill head coach Giovanni Petrgalia is expecting a tough battle Friday night. “Our team has worked very hard this week preparing for Des Moines, as we know that all of games against the Menace are not easy ones”, commented Petraglia. “We did well last weekend to take six points in Winnipeg and take over the division lead, and that is where we want to stay”, he continued.

The Chill will be looking to Sergio Campano Franco to continue his scoring streak with 5 goals now in 6 games, and Brandon Swartzendruber who finally got on the board last weekend in Winnipeg with 3 goals in the two games. Daniel Farias De Oliveira who was magnificent in last Sunday’s win scoring 2 goals also has 3 goals on the season.

Thunder Bay will also host the St. Louis Lions on Wednesday June 24th. Game time is 7:30 pm.

The Thunder Bay Chill plays in the 63 team prospect focused Premier Development League (PDL) which is the top developmental men’s league in North America.
