DULUTH, Minnesota – June 20, 2011 ---- Save the date now to attend the 2011 Art in Bayfront Park on August 20-21 in Duluth's beautiful art inspired Bayfront Park. Last year Art in Bayfront Park brought in only the finest artists from across the USA and will continue to be the best with original art however, there will be a few exciting additions added to the event. The best news is that it is still FREE to the public!
The fair continues on Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. with the first annual Miss Bayfront Pageant. The pageant is a Miss America franchise with contestants from ages 16-24 competing in 4 categories, talent, life and fitness, interview, evening gown. The winner will move onto compete in the Miss Minnesota pageant. The winner of Miss Bayfront Pageant receives a $500 scholarship and many other prizes.
Festival Hours: Saturday, August 20th. 10 AM to 6 PM- Sunday, August 21st. 10 AM to 5 PM
Art in Bayfront Park is also holding a Miss Bayfront Princess for ages 3-6, Miss Bayfront Tween for ages 7-12, Miss Bayfront Teen for ages 13-16 along with the main pageant Miss Bayfront ages 17-24. Talent is optional for ages 16 and under and anyone from any state can participate. The Miss Bayfront Park ages 17-24 is open only to contestants who live, work or go to school in Minnesota. The Art in Bayfront Park Art Festival will feature the six entities – visual art, music, performing arts, interactive activities, culinary and the pageant. Over 130 professional juried artists selected from one of the most competitive jury processes in the country will show and sell their original artwork. Local, national music acts, and dance will be showcased on the Main Stage. On Sunday, the Miss Bayfront Contestants will showcase their talent on stage. Interactive arts in the Kids Corner will engage our little guests in a total arts experience. The kid’s corner will also feature Bounce Tents so that the youngsters can release all their performing arts inhibitions.
Rounding out the Festival is the eclectic food booths providing guests with an extraordinary community arts and culture Festival.
So drive down to Bayfront Park, shop beautiful art until you drop. Then take in a picnic lunch while enjoying bands, dancing, and pageantry while your kids paint their hearts out.
